Peshawar Youth Enter Into Tabdeele Football Cup Semi-finals

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jan, 2019 ) :One goal each by right winger Sadam and center striker Tariq guided Peshawar Youth a thumping 2-1 victory against strong Shams United in the last quarter-final of the ongoing of the 2nd Tabdeele Football Cup being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Sunday.
Minister for Forest and Environment and Wildlife Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Ishtiaq Urmar was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the match the players of both Peshawar Youth and Shams United were introduced to him.
Surprisingly Shams United was most of the time dominated the proceedings and even took the lead in the 6th minute when center striker Farhan netted a fine through field attempt.
It was right winger Tauqeer who sent in a beautiful cross toward the rival goal-post and Farhan did nothing wrong in dispatching a headed in into the net to make the tally 1-0.
After taking a goal lead, Shams United got the position of the ball and made some good rallies of attack but they were not allowed by the pack defence of Peshawar Youth. It was in the 13th and 19th minute when first the attempts of Kabir and Amir Anwar wend wide from the goal-post.
These are good chances of leveling the tally 1-1 but both Kabir and Amir Anwar failed to score their goals on each chance.
On the other hands Peshawar Youth despite conceding a goal managed their position according to the situation and put more pressure to level the tally but either Shams United goal-keeper Wali Khan thwarted the attempts of Peshawar Youth forwards or their players were not on the target.
At half-time Shams United was leading by 1-0.
After the resumption of the second session the front-line and mid-field of Shams United comprising Maroof, Kamran, Yahya, Imran, Shamroaz, Taufqeer, Adnan, Farhar and Abbas played well but they were failed to score.
Peshawar Youth goal-keeper Ihsan was the pick of the pack who also saved some easy goal scoring opportunities with his excellent goal-keeping and its front line featuring Kabir, Sadam, Tariq, Amir Anwar, Aamir Sadiq, Hamayun, Waseem, Yousaf played and soon found the equalizer when Sadam succeeded in leveling the tally 1-1.
After 15 minute of play this was Tariq who scored the winner goal through field attempt and made the tally 2-1. Shams United tried their hard to level the tally but they were failed and thus Peshawar Youth, a team of the Directorate of sports KP, won the match by 2-1 and moved to the semi-finals.
Now Jangal Khail Kohat will face North Waziristan Agency in the first semi-final on January 28 while Peshawar Youth will clash against defending champion Shinwari Stori in the second semi-finals on January 29. A match between Veteran International Footballer of Pakistan and KP Veteran International Footballer will be played on January 30 before the final on February 1.
