LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2018 ) :Horizon of e-credit scheme running successfully under Khadim-e-Punjab Kisan Package has been enhanced in the larger interest of farmers. According to the Punjab Agriculture Department sources on Tuesday, now farmers having 50 acres of land could also benefit from the scheme.

During the first phase of this scheme, 314,000 small farmers had been given interest free loans, the sources added. They said that under the scheme a loan of Rs40,000 was being provided on per acre of land for the Kharif crop.

Farmers having land up to 25 acres were being provided interest-free loans and now farmers with 50 acres of land would be having facility of concessional loans.

They said that loans were being provided to farmers in a transparent manner.

To participate in this scheme, farmers should complete registration process in Tehsil Land Record Centre along with their CNIC, mobile number and details of their land. Farmers who meet the criteria were later contacted for further process.Farmers could contact on helpline 0800-15000 and 0800- 29000 for seeking guidance, the sources added.
