Slight fall in water reservoirs persists, normal flow in rivers: Federal Flood Commission

Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has reported water situation at reservoirs is persisting to slightly decline where all main Rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal.

According to the daily FFC report on Tuesday, the actual river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela Dam is at 1529.98 feet, 20.02 feet below its maximum conservation level (MAL) and Mangla reservoir at 65.25 feet below its MAL of 1242 feet which is 1176.75 feet.

The present combined live storage of three reservoirs is 8.080 million acre feet (MAF) (59.

06 per cent of the total storage capacity of 13.681 MAF).

According to Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore, Monsoon Low is likely to develop over Bay of Bengal (India) during next 24 hours and is expected to move West-Northwestwards, adding Weak Seasonal Low still persists over Northern Balochistan.

For the next 24 hours, the FFD has predicted mainly dry weather over most parts of the country and no significant rainfall event has been reported during past 24 hours.

"A wet spell is likely to start from September 23", the report added.
