Oil tankers, goods transporters withdraw strike call

The Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association and All Pakistan Goods Transporters Association on Tuesday announced to withdraw strike call after their meeting with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail here at the Governor House.

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2018 ) :The Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association and All Pakistan Goods Transporters Association on Tuesday announced to withdraw strike call after their meeting with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail here at the Governor House.

During the meeting, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail assured the delegation of both the associations that the incumbent government was taking all the stakeholders on board and was also focusing on resolution of their issues, said a press release.

He said that the decision of replacing 20 years old oil tankers was right and the oil tankers association was also agreed upon this however Managing Director Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has been asked to postpone the decision for two months.

The Governor said the government would consider all aspects for helping the owners in purchase of new oil tankers and for selling the old ones. He said he would discuss the issues of both the associations with Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Zaidi and Minister for Communications Murad Saeed.

The delegation included Tankers Owners Association Senior Vice Chairman Mir Shams Shehwani, Goods Transporters Association Chairman Nisar Jaffery, Haji Babar, Malik Chirag, Haji Nazimuddin and others.
