University Of Peshawar Senate Member Elect From Administrative Officers

In the history of University of Peshawar (UoP) for the first time a member from the administrative officers elected as member of University Senate body

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2018 ) :In the history of University of Peshawar (UoP) for the first time a member from the administrative officers elected as member of University Senate body.

The Senate of the University of Peshawar consists of 18 members which chairman is chancellor of the universities (Governor of the province) and other members come from incumbent provincial government, higher education commission, judiciary, teaching faculty of the varsity and four people from the society.

However, for the first time in 68 years history of the UoP, a member from the administration Akhatar Amin who is currently working a Deputy Registrar, elected a member of Senate.

Talking to APP on Wednesday Akhtar Amin said that he is very happy to become now part of the one of prestigious body of the varsity.

He said that university members trusted upon him to elect as a member of the senate. He said that he will play his positive role for the uplift of the university and will raise voice for the rights of the university members.

The Deputy Register said that Senate and Syndicate are the two main decision making bodies of the university while from years there was no representation of administrative side. He said that for the first time he has been elected from the administrative side.
