Anti-measles Campaign: Over 3.7mln Children Vaccinated So Far

Director General Health Services Punjab Dr Munir Ahmad has said that 12-day anti-measles campaign is in full swing across the province and more than 3.712 million of six months to seven years of age have been vaccinated.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Oct, 2018 ) :Director General Health Services Punjab Dr Munir Ahmad has said that 12-day anti-measles campaign is in full swing across the province and more than 3.712 million of six months to seven years of age have been vaccinated.
He said that skilled workers are executing their duties with dedication and professional zeal, due to that access coverage beyond the target was carried out.
While giving some details, the DG health said that the two-day target was fixed at 3,341,136, but the vaccination teams of the Health Department vaccinated 3,712,006 children, hence they achieved 111 per cent target.
Dr Munir Ahmad shared data of few big districts and said that during the last two days skilled workers teams inoculated 372,556 children in Lahore, 161,402 in Multan, 166,321 in Rawalpindi, 250,892 in Faisalabad, 107,994 in Bahawalpur and 178,316 children had been vaccinated in Gujranwala.
The DG Health was of the view that the vaccine which is being used in this campaign is of International Standard and WHO certified.
He said that the same measles vaccine was not only being used in other provinces but the other countries were alsousing the same vaccine which is safe and of the best quality.
