Accountability Court Awards 5 Years Sentence With Fine To Amjad Hussain

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Dec, 2016 ) : Accountability Court on Thursday has awarded sentence of 5 years and fine of Rs. 4,374,792/- as penalty to the accused namely Amjad Hussain.
The accused was convicted in Reference No 2/2016 State vs M/S Akhter Brothers, according to a statement of National Accountability Bureau here on Thursday.
The convicted accused was proprietor of Akhter Brothers engaged with business of leather products who illegally obtained sales tax refunds in 2005 on the basis of fake invoices purportedly issued by World Wide Impex.
The World Wide Impex disclosed during investigation that they had never remained in any business with Akhter Brothers, nor made supplies of any products to them. The sanctioning officer of illegal sales tax refunds the Deputy Collector Syed Nusrat Nasir had died before filing of Reference.
