Awareness Campaign Launched To Ensure Rights To Workers: Minister

Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resource Ansar Majeed Khan Monday said that an awareness campaign has been launched to sensitise workers about their rights and bring about reforms to strengthen institutions.
Talking to the media after visiting Labour Complex here, he said that Faisalabad is the city of workers and according to figures, it has more than two million workers.
He said that the incumbent government is taking reform-based measures to ensure provision of social justice to workers.
He said that most issues confronted by the workers are because of their lack of information about their legitimate rights.
He said that measures were being taken to strengthen Labour institutes so that rights of workers could be protected.
He said that government had also chalked out a comprehensive strategy to sensitise workforce about their legitimate rights.
He promised that social security cover would be provided to each and every worker.
Earlier, local labour officials, office-bearers of labour organisations and a large number of workers welcomed the minister on his arrival.
The minister visited various parts of the complex where he was also briefed about departmental activities.
Later, the minister visited workers welfare school in Johar Colony.
He went to classrooms, library, laboratories and other parts of the school and expressed satisfaction over the quality of education and discipline in the school.
The minister also paid a visit to the Social Security Hospital Madina Town.
He inquired about the health of patients and directed the administration to provide the best treatment facilities to them.
He expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided in the hospital.
