Basant To Be Celebrated In Lahore In February

Basant will be celebrated in Lahore in the second week of February.

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th December, 2018) The Punjab government has decided to allow celebrating Basant in Lahore.

Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan gave this good news to the citizens of Lahore.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Tuesday, the minister said that Basant will be celebrated in Lahore in the second week of February.

The Lahoris will celebrate their historic festival, he said.

He added that Basant is a cultural festival.

In his previous press conference, Chohan said that Basant festival creates enormous economic activity and is a source of promoting tourism.

He had stressed that the protection of human life was an important aspect to ponder for the government before allowing Basant festivities.

However, the Punjab government has now officially announced celebrating Basant in Lahore.

This has created a wave of joy among the Lahoris.
