Capacity building workshop for departmental staff working under ministry of I&B held

A two-day capacity building workshop for the staff of various departments functioning under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting began here on Thursday

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Mar, 2023 ) :A two-day capacity building workshop for the staff of various departments functioning under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting began here on Thursday.

The officers and their supportive staff of Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation (APPC), Radio Pakistan, Pakistan Television (ptv) and Press Information Department (PID) attended the workshop.

Information Service academy (ISS) Director General Ahmed Saeed Sheikh highlighted integrity, good governance and changes.

Highlighting various types of integrity---personal, professional/public and emotional integrity, he said: "With integrity you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing to hide".

He also highlighted the quote of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah which he said while addressing to civil servants on February 14, 1948 "Work honestly and sincerely and be faithful and loyal to the Pakistan government.

I can assure you that there is nothing greater in this world than your own conscience and, when you appear before God, you can say that you performed your duty with the highest sense of integrity, honestly, loyalty and faithfulness".

The DG also highlighted the advantages of integrity ---satisfaction of a person, ideal working environment, better public service delivery/good governance, financial discipline and establishment of welfare state.

Describing change management, Ahmed Saeed Sheikh said that nothing in this world was permanent, the only thing that's permanent was change. An alternation in the processes of government that needs new skills or responses at personal or institutional levels to tackle them, was a change, he observed.

He said that change was uncontrollable, adding that "Change is inevitable, Growth is optional". He said that resistance against change could not stop, it only slows down its pace in lieu of a heavy cost. "If opposition to change is greater from inside than outside, it simply destroys", he said.

He said that change opens doors for growth by breaking sluggishness, brings new talent within the system, always aimed at betterment and destroys comfort zones.

"We should accept the reality that "change shall happen", the DG said.

He also talked about gender equality, women empowerment, openness throughnew media, rights of minorities and access to information.
