Chairperson BISP Visits Registration Desk Tofkian, Khanpur

KHANPUR, Jan 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Jan, 2017 ) : Chairperson, Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Marvi Memon here Tuesday visited the registration desk at village Tofkian of Khanpur.
During her visit she said that deserving people should come and register theirselves with BISP. She also visited the sites and interacted with people, coming for registration, for their feedback.
She directed officials concerned to facilitate the people in registration process. Chairperson stated that the pilot phase of survey Desk Approach (Self Registration) employed in 4 districts including Haripur, Sakhur, Bahalwpur and Naseer Abad.
The prime objective of the project was to empower the women in the country, she remarked. Marvi disclosed that after this survey BISP would directly provide financial assistant through a transparent system to the poor segment of the society.
Desk approach survey was started in Bahawalpur on August 31, 2016 whereas in Naseerabad and Sukkar it was initiated in the first week of September, 2016. In district Haripur, the pilot phase of BISP's new poverty survey started in June 2016 where Desk Approach (Self Registration) has been adopted.
Chairperson BISP said that registration in four districts was very successful and 12 districts of door to door survey in pilot phase including Jacobabad, Thatha, Mohmand Agency, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Layyah, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Kech, Qila Saifullah, Lakki Marwat and Charsadda has also been started.
