Dastgir Briefs European Parliamentarians On Improvements In

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jan, 2017 ) : The Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan, Tuesday said that Pakistan has taken several steps to improve conditions of productions besides making major achievements in terms of law and order improvement and human rights situation in the country.
In a meeting with senior officials of European Commission and members of European Parliament in Brussels, he apprised them of various steps being taken by the government of Pakistan to improve the trade, econmic, social and political situation in the country.
According to a message received here Khurram Dastgir Khan held meetings with EU Commissioner for Trade Ms.
Cecilia Malmstrom, Deputy Secretary General for Global and Economic Affairs, EEAS Cristian Leffler.
He also met with MEP Jean Lambert, Chair of the South Asia Delegation and addressed members of the delegation. The minister was of the view that focus of Pakistan has shifted towards strengthening its economy through trade rather than aid.
He accentuated correlation of economic progress with peace and stability of any country and said that economic and social indicators were on the rise in Pakistan. APP/qmr/azm
