DMC-Korangi Launches Plantation Campaign

KARACHI, Feb 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Feb, 2017 ) : District Municipal Corporation (DMC)-Korangi administration here on Friday launched a plantation campaign with equal attention towards protection of trees, shrubs and green spaces in the area.

Chairman, DMC-Korangi, Syed Naiyar Raza formally inaugurating the campaign in Malir Model Colony zone announced stringent action against those indulged in destruction of greenery in the district.

He announced that no one will be allowed to cut trees or uproot plants under any pretext as this would tantamount to polluting the environment. Seeking public support for the campaign, the DMC-Korangi chairman said a clean and green atmosphere is equally important for public health.

"Each and every stakeholder must realize their respective responsibilities," said Raza and directed concerned officials to also make extra efforts in raising general awareness about the issue.
