Good News For Picnickers As Met Office Predicts Rain, Pleasant Weather

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2018 ) :The weather remained pleasant in northern areas of the country, with rain forecasts for most parts on Sunday, the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), showers are expected in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces, where it rained a day earlier as well. Peshawar and various parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Northern areas, a real spot for the tourists would receive rain besides downing of temperature, touched 40C, 41C and 42C in the current month.
In Karachi, the weather switched been cloudy and sunny, encouraging citizens to spend the second day of Eid outdoor. However, mercury remained high in most parts of Balochistan. The temperature was recorded at 38C in Sibbi, 32 in Nok Kundi and Panjgur, 31 in Lasbela, Turbat and Gwadar, 30 in Dalbandin and Pasni, 26 in Quetta. The weather in Balochistan will remain hot and dry as per forecasts by the met department. The met department had forecast rain over the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
Met Director Abdul Rasheed had predicted light rain in Karachi on today. It was said that sea breeze would also bring the temperature down in the metropolis over the weekend. The met department had also predicted pre-monsoon. There were winds last night and the sun was not so hot even in the noon in part of the provincial capital and the reports are there to have good weather up to the northern areas with light shower.
On the second day of Eid ul Fitr a large number of people from all over the country reaching the places of tourist attractions in Hazara division and enjoying the Eid vacations. In the early morning, people have reached the tourist spots areas including Khanpur dam to Tarbaila Lake, Sarban hill and Ilyasi mosque Abbottabad, Galyat, Thandyani, Kunhar river, Siran valley, Kaghan, Naran, and other.
Although on this Eid no rush of tourists has been witnessed, still a large number of people are visiting different places of Hazara division. Traffic flow on Karakoram Highway (KKH) at various places from Havelian to Abbottabad and Abbottabad to Mansehra remained smooth where traffic police have bifurcated the Karakoram Highway in two lanes.
Hazara police also made special arrangements for security and traffic flow as well which is till now successful during the two days of Eid ul fitr and deployed special traffic and police riders.
Tourists of Punjab and Sindh are also enjoying the pleasant weather of upper Hazara division after heavy rain while the weather becomes cold in the evening and afterward.
Big rush was witnessed in different recreational spots of Peshawar.
The Chacha Younis Park on main GT road meant for just female only attracted more female and families with no male and enjoyed the swings up there on the second day of Eid. The last night rush of the female was even beyond control but the police were there high alert, checking each and every one by clearing the way to the female visitors besides controlling the flow of the traffic on main GT road.
The children and male rushed to Shahi Bagh Park and Garrison Park by holding pipes and wearing multi-colour glasses and even some have toys, enjoying their Eid's festivities. All the parks were almost packed with people.
"It's really very exciting to enjoy Eid at the aesthetically developed recreational spot," said one Ishfaq Ahmad, carrying a bunch of children to the swings at Garrison Park. "We have a lot of fun and we are also planning to have special meal," he said.
Though the public transport was thin on the roads and taxi drivers were charging exorbitantly, but the people in large numbers managed to reach the recreational spots to enjoy their serene and calm atmosphere.
However, some families have regretted the attitude of some youngsters and urged local administration to take notice and deploy police so the picnicker families could avoid facing such problems in future.
It was disturbing to note that some youngsters riding motorcycles without silencers while traffic police played the role of silent spectator. "It is nice to visit a picnic spot during Eid holidays," said Kursheed, a businessman.
The price of, soft drink, potato chips, biscuits, burgers were almost double as compared to open markets at all picnic spots. A visitor Lubna alleged that there was no check on the prices of food and other items available in the tourist resorts. While, families visiting the different locations complained that overcharging, sale of substandard food items andnon-availability of quality items were the main features of vendors as theconcerned authorities failed to control the quality and rates of the commodities.
