Govt Shows Zero Tolerance Against Gas Theft, Line Losses: Minister For Petroleum Omar Ayub Khan

Minister for Petroleum Omar Ayub Khan Tuesday said the government would show zero tolerance against gas theft and line losses in the gas companies
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2019 ) :Minister for Petroleum Omar Ayub Khan Tuesday said the government would show zero tolerance against gas theft and line losses in the gas companies.
The minister expressed these views during a briefing given by Secretary Petroleum Asad Hayyaudin, said a press release.
The briefing was also attended by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Petroleum (SAPM) Nadeem Babar.
The secretary briefed minister about oil and gas exploration and production projects.
He apprised about LNG covenants, demand of petroleum products, local refineries and their production.
Omar Ayub asked for establishing special task force for collecting data from both gas companies regarding gas theft cases.
SAPM Nadeem Babar asked management of gas companies to take steps to control line losses and gas theft.
He also said that in a bid to achieve self-sufficiency in the energy sector, OGDCL andPPL should devise a strategy to reinvigorate oil and gas exploration activities in the country.
