JS Academy Win Independence Day Athletic Meet, Usman, Abid Declares Best Athletes

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th August, 2016) : JS academy clinched the trophy after securing 96 points with promising athletes Usman and Abid were jointly declared as best athletes of the Meet organized by Directorate of sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration of KP Athletic Association and JS Academy here at Qayyum Sports Complex on Monday. Saeed Mehmood, President KP Athletic Association Habib Ur Rehman, Director General Sports Miss Rashida Ghaznavi, Organizing Secretary Syed Jaffar Shah, International athlete Asad Khan, former international athletes Muhammad Shah, Sana Ullah, officials and players were also present. JS Academy secured 96 points with seven gold, five silver and nine bronze medals, MS Academy scored 81 points with five gold, four silver and seven bronze medals, Islamia Collegiate got third position with 30 points with two gold and two silver medals and seven bronze medals. Usman in the Junior Youth events Under-16 took two gold medals in 100m and 200m while Abid bagged two gold medals in 100m and 200m.
Both were declared as best athletes of the Meet. On the last day event Saqib of MS Academy got gold medal, followed by Majid of JS Academy and Adnan, also from JS Academy. In the 200m Under-16 Youth category Subhan got gold medal, followed by Zakir and Usman while in the same category of the Under-19 category Abid took gold medal, followed by Junaid and Qasim.
In the 100m Under-16 Usman won gold medal, followed by Saqib and Wajid, in the 1500m Atta Ur Rehman won gold medal, followed by Abdur Rehman and Shahzeb, in the 4X100m relay JS Academy won gold medal, followed by MS Academy and Islamia Collegiate, in the 4X400m relay JS Academy also won gold medal followed by MS and Islamia Collegiate. In the female overall JS Academy secured 40 points and won overall trophy, followed by MS Academy and Islamia College with 25 and 16 points respectively.
Aliza Qazi of MS Academy was declared as best athlete as she won gold medal in 100m and Javelin throw. At the end, the guest Engr. Saeed Mehmood, Miss Rashida Ghaznavi and Habib Ur Rehman gave away trophies, cash prizes, medals to the position holders. Speaking on this occasion, Habib Ur Rehman said that players out of the Meet would be short-listed for the camp till September this year because of the four teams would take part.
He disclosed that two female teams and two male one youth and one under-19. He said a camp would be setup for this purpose to field best teams in the two National events. He said all gears would be provided to the players besides diet in the camp.
