LHC Orders Release Of 4 Women Kiln Workers, 5 Children

LAHORE, Jan 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : The Lahore High Court on Wednesday ordered release of four women kiln workers and their five children, who were recovered from a kiln in Ali Pur Chattha.

Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar passed these orders while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by one Farzana Bibi, a relative of the workers, for their production and release.

Earlier, a bailiff produced the women and children before the court after recovering them from custody of brick kiln owner, Nauman.

The petitioner's counsel submitted that the workers were detained by the kiln owner and they were not being paid in accordance with market rates. However, the respondent's counsel submitted that the workers had already received advance and they were being paid as per agreement. At this, the court ordered to release all women and children.
