Lord Nazir Urges India To Allow Independent International Observers To Visit IOK To Assess The Prevailing Ugly Human Rights Situation In The Bleeding Vale:

MIRPUR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Dec, 2018 ) : Dec. 27 (APP):The Kashmir-born lifetime British Parliamentarian Lord Nazir Ahmed Thursday expressed the need for allowing independent international observers and fact-find missions to assess the prevailing ugly human rights situation in the Indian-occupied Jammu Kashmir in the light of the recent report of the United Nations Human Rights Commission on HR in the bleeding vale of Kashmir.

He was talking to journalists at the sideline of opening ceremony of the newly-constructed state-of-the-art private sector Business Complex of M/s. Friends Medicines Service of AJK at his native town of Mirpur Wednesday night.

Earlier, Lord Nazir inaugurated the grand business complex. Hundreds of people belonging to the business community and the city elite attended.

Retired Chief Justice of AJK High Court Justice Abdul Majeed Mallick, AJK minister Ch. Muhammad Saeed, President Mirpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry Sohail Shujah Mujahid, Chief Executives of Friends Medicines Services Mumtaz Rasool Mir, Shahid Naeem, Ch. Basharat Mahmood, ex AJKCCI Sr. Vice President Sabir Hussain Chairman Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah Foundation AJK Dr. Amin Choudhry, former DBA President Ch. Khalid Rasheed Advocate, VP MCCI Wajid Rasool Mir and others also addressed the inaugural ceremony.

Lord Nazir Ahmed said that Pakistan may also knock Secretary General of the United Nations raising the demand for early settlement of Kashmir issue coupled with current heated issue of human rights violations in Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir in the UN Security Council making the recent report of the recent UN Human Rights Commission report on HR violations in IOK and the recommendations of both houses of the British parliament including house of Lords and the House of Commons to this direction, he underlined.

Lord Ahmed said it would directly benefit the people of Jammu & Kashmir and their struggle for achievement of the much-awaited birth right of self determination.

Welcoming the recent opening of Indo-Pak border at Kartarpur for the pilgrimage by the Sikh fraternity from across the border, Lord Nazir Ahmed termed it an excellent gesture on the part of Pakistan and reflection of the peace-loving approach of the country in resolution of the long-standing conflicts with India, especially the core issue of Jammu & Kashmir through resumption of result-oriented talks between the two countries.

Demanding the identical facility for Jammu Kashmir people, Lord Ahmed strongly called for opening of rest of all natural routes at the Line of Control in Jammu Kashmir to facilitate the people of the state for pilgrimage to their respective religious sites besides to visit the divided families at both sides of the LoC including the abandoned routes of Sialkot-Jammu, Chamb-Akhnoor, Sakardu-Kargil, Mirpur-Changher and other natural avenues.

Strongly condemning the unabated Human Rights violations in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir Lord Ahmed said that the HR abuses in IOK need immediate attention of international organizations and institutions invested in upholding universally accepted International Human Rights.

Lord Nazir Ahmed said that India had unleashed a reign of terror in the occupied Kashmir. The unspeakable atrocities perpetrated against innocent civilians should cause the world community to view Indian Occupied Kashmir as a region of concern.

Pointing to various independent reports on the state of Human Rights in IoK, Lord Ahmed said that the killings, torture, enforced disappearances, mass blinding and use of public humiliation had been used as instrument of coercion against the people of the held state.

In exercising so, Lord Ahmed said, India was not only using disproportionate force but was also making no distinction between combatants and civilians, he added.
