Mayor Offers Fateha At Grave Of Legendary Singer Mehdi Hassan

Mayor of Karachi. Wasim Akhtar along with vice chairman of DMC Central Syed Shakir Ali and Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman went to the grave of legendary singer Mehdi Hassan in Muhammad Shah Qubrustan on his 16th death anniversary to offer fateha and to lay a wreath.

Wasim Akhtar along with vice chairman of DMC Central Syed Shakir Ali and Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman went to the grave of legendary singer Mehdi Hassan in Muhammad Shah Qubrustan on his 16th death anniversary to offer fateha and to lay a wreath.
In charge Qabrustan Iqbal Parvez and director media management Ali Hassan Sajid were also present on the occasion, a statement on Thursday said.
The Mayor gave directive to officers concerned for making the grave and its surrounding place better by repairing works.
He paid tribute to the great ghazal singer who had lots of fans all around the world and got fame due to his great performance.
He said in order to save the Muhammad Shah Graveyard from sewerage water a 24 inch sewerage line has been laid at a cost of Rs 3.6 million so that graves here could be saved from sewerage and a boundary wall was also constructed around the grave of Mehdi Hassan.
