Measures being taken to supply sufficient water to federal capital

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Oct, 2016 ) : A number of measures are being taken to supply sufficient water to residents of the Federal capital as per their requirement. According to an official of the Capital Administration and Development Division (CAAD) currently residents of the federal capital were being supplied water from Simli Dam but the supply was in sufficient to the requirement of the residents.

Tubewells are being installed to overcome water shortage in addition to pursuing a plan to supply water from Ghazi-Barotha, he said. To a question about road, he said that roads of the city are being refurbished, adding strict measures would be taken against encroachments at those roads especially at business centers of the capital.

He said policy with regard to slum areas which had been categorized, was being implemented in letter and spirit and compensation in this regard was paid after pursuing a transparent procedures.

However, he also said that the payment of the affectees of the villages including Model Village Kurri & Rehara, Mouza Noon, Badhana, Sheikhpur and Jhangi Sayedan (Sector H-16).

Mouza Noon, Kot Kolian, Bajnial and lakho (Sector I-17) could not be released due to non-availability of funds.

The official said that a total 4,650 electrical and mechanical related complaints of Sector G 6/1-4 were received and 4440 out of which were attended during the last two years. The services wing received 13,953 of complaints related to Sewerage, Welding/repair, etc.
