Modern Systems Vital To Boost Agri Growth: NAEAC

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jan, 2017 ) : National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) Chairman ME Tusneem on Thursday said modernisation of agriculture production systems and supply chain of high value products were pre-requisite to boost agriculture growth.
He along with a 10-member team of the NAEAC and the HEC visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. He said they were making all-out efforts to evolve a mechanism of quality assurance of agriculture education to come up to current and emerging challenges of economy.
He added that modern agriculture had become technology driven based on knowledge. The NAEAC was mandated to implement agriculture education degree programmes accreditation based on the HEC policies to assure high quality and standards of education, he said.
He appreciated the steps being taken on the part of the varsity for agricultural education and to cope with challenges of food security. Dean Faculty of Agriculture Prof Dr Muhammad Amjad Aulak said agriculture was the backbone of our economy.
He added that they were taking all possible measures to produce the skilled manpower having knowledge of modern agriculture. The other members of the NAEAC, HEC delegation included Dr Muhammad Bismillahm, Dr Fayyazul Hassan, Dr Dil Nawaz Gardezi, Dr Shahid Masood, Dr Tahir Saleem, Dr Safdar, Dr Jamil, Dr Noorul Amin, Dr Naseer Alam Khan and Dr Raja Mehtab.
UAF teachers Dr Ahrar Ahmad Khan, Dr Hafiz Sadaqat, Dr Riaz Ahmad, Dr Javed Akhtar, Dr Amanullah, Dr Ahmad Sattar, Dr Muhammad Farooq, Dr Fatima Usman and others also spoke.
