More Robust Relations With African Continent Cornerstone Of Government's Policy: FM

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2018 ) :Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said more robust relations with the African continent of the future�would be�a cornerstone of the PTI government's foreign policy.
He stated this during a joint meeting with the High Commissioners and Ambassadors of the African Group here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here said.
� The foreign minister articulated the government's vision of forging close trade, commercial and investment ties with the African continent.
� The High Commissioners and Ambassadors of South Africa, Tunisia, Kenya, Algeria, Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, Mauritius, Nigeria, Egypt and Libya expressed their�gratitude for the opportunity to hold detailed discussions with the Foreign Minister�at length.� � They conveyed that�the�ties between African countries�and�Pakistan were marked with mutual respect, admiration, warmth and cordiality�and�Pakistan was viewed as an�important country in the region.
� The envoys were unanimous in underlining the need for high-level engagements�as a way forward for�robust�bilateral�relations. The need�for the exchange of regular official and private sector business delegations�was also reiterated.�� The foreign minister remarked that it would be his�endeavor�to ensure that warmth and cordial relations were translated into robust trade, economic and investment ties and�that regular bilateral visits�take place,�with cooperation expanding into a range of diverse fields.
� The meeting concluded�with�deep appreciation�by the envoys�for�a�unique opportunity to share common concerns and ideas�relating to important Pakistan-Africa relations.
