ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Sub Committee of the Public Accounts Committee Thursday asked the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) to adjust its 158 temporary employees in the project of safe drinking water as per law.
The committee meeting, chaired by Shahida Akhtar Ali, was attended among others by MNA Arshad Khan Leghari, Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology Fazal Abbas Maken and senior officials of the audit authorities.
While discussing the audit report of Ministry of Science and Technology for year 2013-14, she said the employees had rendered their services for ten years and they have exceeded the age limit for appointment.
Shahida Akhtar said indulging in litigation would not be in favour of both the parties - employees and employer. It was disclosed in the committee that as many as 17 officials had been appointed in Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) in violation of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules and without advertisement.
Fazal Abbas Maken said that it was negligence of the department and the ministry did not renew the contact of 12 officials out 17. The committee directed the ministry to streamline its all matters according to law.
