Pakistan Railways Being Uplifted Through New System: Habib

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Nov, 2018 ) :Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Mian Farrukh Habib said a new railway system was being introduced in Pakistan because railways was the backbone of the national economy.

Talking to media here at Quetta Railway Station on Monday, Farrukh Habib said an accountability process had been started across the country.

He said the previous rulers had destroyed national departments and looted resources and they would be held accountable.

Farukh Habib said railway was a strategic asset and steps were needed to improve its working regenerate it.

The parliamentary secretary said the visit of Prime Minsiter Imran Khan to China would bring positive results for the country.

"During the visit, the prime minister focused on railway and agriculture sectors. The Chinese government appreciated the prime minister's vision and said it would give full support to Pakistan in improving railway system and agriculture sector", he added.

He said China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) would start a new journey of development in the country including Balochistan.

Farukh Habib said the current government took adequate steps to mitigate concerns of Balochistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan was making every effort to develop Balochistan.
