Sahi said that he cannot stand by the PMLN anymore in the current situation.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th May, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Lieutenant Colonel (r) Ghulam Rasool Sahi has resigned from National Assembly.
According to media reports, the PMLN leader resigned over differences with party policies. Sahi said that he cannot stand by the PMLN anymore in the current situation.
Sahi was elected as MNA from Na-75, Faisalabad in the 2013 elections.
Several other PMLN leaders have also parted ways with the party following the Panama Leaks issue that promoted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after it won the case against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Nawaz Sharif formulated a new strategy to target national institutions after being disqualified in Panama Leaks. He went hard on judiciary and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in most of his statements and said that the cases underway in NAB against Sharif family are a revengeful activity.
Nawaz’s recent statement over Mumbai attacks has created a new hype in Pakistani politics. The former prime minister is being criticizing for his remarks.
According to political analysts, there are many differences in the party over Nawaz’s new policy while some leaders have even refused to defend this strategy. They are of the view that Nawaz Sharif will lose his vote-bank because of this statement. Meanwhile, slogans of ‘traitor Nawaz’ are being raised against the former prime minister for his remarks. The political opponents had urged Nawaz to take back his statement; however, Nawaz during his hearing at Accountability Court on Monday said that he sticks to his statement come what may.
