SC Forms JIT In Pakpattan Shrine Case

The court has ordered Khalid Lak to submit terms and references of the JIT by December 27.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th December, 2018) The Supreme Court of Pakistan has formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the Pakpattan shrine land case against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to media reports, Khalid Lak will head the JIT while an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) official will also be included in the JIT.
The court has ordered Khalid Lak to submit terms and references of the JIT by December 27.
In the previous hearing, Nawaz Sharif had refused to accept allegations levelled against him for allegedly transferring of 14,398 acres of Pakpattan shrine's land during his tenure as chief minister of Punjab in 1985.
Nawaz Sharif, as Punjab chief minister, had allegedly allotted 1,800 kanal land of Auqaf around Pakpattan shrine to an individual Dewan Ghulam Qutab in violation of the high court orders.
The former PM denied that he had not passed any order regarding withdrawal of notification of allotment to an individual, Dewan Ghulam Qutab, in violation of a Lahore High Court order.
