PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jan, 2019 ) :Scattered rains have started lashing different districts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa on Thursday, turning weather chilly by forcing people to wear additional warm cloths.
According to Met Office, rain was reported from scattered places in Malakand, Kohat, Bannu, Peshawar, Swat, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Khyber and Kurram districts during last 12 hours, which turned weather cold.
The current rainfall is because of westerly wave, which is present over the country and may persist in upper and central parts till Thursday night.
As result of present weather system, widespread rain-thunderstorm is expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions during next 12 hours.
Bannu, DI Khan districts may receive more rains besides moderate to heavyfalls at isolated places in Malakand and Hazara divisions.
Snowfall over the hills is also expected in Malakand division including Swat, Chitral, Kalam, Malamjabba & Upper Dir), Hazara division.
Owing to recent spells of rain and snowfall, winter season was prolonged. The agriculturists have termed recent rainfall extremely beneficial for wheat crops especially in rainy and aridareas of the province. Due to recent rains, seasonal infections like cough, ENT diseases and other allergies would curtailed in the province.
