Social Sciences Play Pivotal Role In Promoting Peace, Tolerance

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th july, 2016) : Social sciences have a pivotal role in the promotion of peace and tolerance in the society as well as changes occurring in the society. A `good research' gives solutions to various societal issues like poverty and crimes, said Chairperson Karachi University's Department of Social Works, Prof.
Dr. Nasreen Aslam Shah. She was talking to students of Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC), Karachi, who visited the Social Works Department of the University, says an official of the institution on Tuesday.
Social Sciences must be modernized in line with the contemporary trends in the education system and research methodology.
She also briefed the visiting students about social sciences research process and research activities of the Department of Social Works and Center of Excellence for Women Studies KU especially about home based working women, child labor and international research journals of both the department and center.
Students showed a lot of interest in these and expressed their wish to join hands in these research works.
