Supremacy Of Law Only Solution For Addressing People's Grievances: Hussain Naqi

Eminent human right activist and veteran journalist Hussain Naqi said the people fully aware of rules of law, benefits of democracy and right of expressions adding that only the supremacy of law is the solution to addressing the grievances of the countrymen.
He said this in a reception hosted by the management of Hyderabad Press Club in his honour here on Monday, Hussain Naqi said the people had struggled against dictatorial rules and rendered great sacrifices for the restoration of democracy aimed to get their due rights, however, he said that without supremacy of law, they cannot be able to resolve their issues.
During dictatorial regimes, he said that he preferred to go behind bars and face restrictions of different kinds but never surrendered to tell truth and struggle for the rights of the people.
Faiz Ahmed Faiz was the journalist prisoner arrested first in 1948 but never bowed head against dictators, he added.
Senior Journalists Azizullah Malik, Ali Hassan and Sohail Sangi also addressed the participants and paid tributes to the services of Hussain Naqi in the field of journalism as well as his struggle for human rights.
Among others, senior journalist Lala Rehman Soomro, President Hyderabad Press Club Nasir Shaikh, Prof. Mushtaq Mirani and Badar Soomro were also present on the occasion.
