WASA Constitutes Emergency Checking Team To Monitor Performance Of Tube Wells

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2019 ) :Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi Friday constituted a special emergency checking team under the supervision of Director Water Supply to monitor performance of its tube wells and ensure water supply to the consumers.

Chairman WASA Muhammad Arif Abbasi and Managing Director WASA Muhammad Tanveer today chaired a meeting to review the performance of the agency and water supply to the citizens during summer particularly during Ramazan ul Mubarik.

Chairman WASA expressed satisfaction over water supply situation and said that the performance of the agency during this season was very good and the efficiency of the department under the supervision of the Managing Director WASA Muhammad Tanveer was improving day by day.

He said, special emergency checking teams would conduct surprise visits of different tube wells and check water supply situation, adding, negligence on part of the officials would not be tolerated and strict action in accordance with the law would be taken.

The Chairman said that he wanted to make WASA an exemplary organization.

The meeting reviewed in detail the water supply system of the agency and several steps were taken to further improve the performance.

The Chairman and the MD directed the Sub-Engineers and Assistant Directors to make all out efforts to ensure attendance of tube well operators, observance of tube wells' time schedule, proper checking water supply pipeline valves, complete restoration of electric panels, wiring and capacitors.

They instructed the officers to make detailed charts having complete record and history of the tube wells. Solid steps should be taken to address complaints of the consumers within shortest possible time frame, they added.

The Chairman ordered the officers to strictly monitor working of tube wells and water works to decrease the electricity bills.

Deputy MD WASA Saleem Ashraf, Director Admin and Finance, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and Sub-Engineer WASA attended the meeting.
