Says the fight for survival is so primal and she is humbled to have witnessed it.
Mumbai (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th May, 2018) Bollywod actress and Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations' Children's Agency (UNICEF) Priyanka Chopra is travelling back after visiting camps in Cox's Bazar bordering Myanmar.
In an Instagram post, Priyanka shared how blessed she feels to have the privilege she got.
“As I travel back from Cox’s Bazar to Los Angeles, the only thing on my mind is how much privilege I have been blessed with. I thank each person who has contributed to making my life so blessed.
She said that she is grateful for all that she has and will always be on a quest to make life at least a little easier for as many as she can.
“I thank God for having the ability to do so,” she said, adding, “I’m so moved by this UNICEF field trip to the Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. To witness the incredible strength it takes just to survive.”
Priyanka said that the fight for survival is so primal and she is humbled to have witnessed it.
Priyanka spent time with the desperate children at safe homes, makeshift schools and helped them draw pictures of sunshine and hope during her visit. The UNICEF ambassador kept sharing her experience on Instagram.
Some 700,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled Myanmar's Rakhine state since late August to escape military-led violence and are now seeking UN protection to return home. Almost 60 per cent of the total refugees are children, and 60 babies are being born every day in camps in Bangladesh.
