Bhushan Kumar encouraged people to subscribe to the channel to become the most subscribed to YouTube channel
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th March, 2019) Indian music label T-Series recently issued its plea to increase its subscriber base to become the world’s number one YouTube channel.
In a Twitter video T-Series' chairman and managing director, Bhushan Kumar, encouraged people to subscribe to the channel because becoming the most subscribed to YouTube channel would be a historic moment for India, stating “Today belongs to you. It belongs to the entire nation.”
Pewdiepie fans criticized Kumar for using nationalist rhetoric to boost his subscribers.
The battle for YouTube has reduced to “India vs the World” campaign.
Pakistanis also jumped in the battle and denounced support for T-Series as it removed songs by Pakistani singers from its YouTube channel following the Pulawama attack.
Pakistanis have launched a campaign to #UnsubscribeTSeries so it cannot become the world’s number one YouTube channel.
Here’s how Pakistanis are reacting:
