RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -26th Augst,2016) : Lahore Whites' opening pair of Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal scored brisk 84 and 81 runs, respectively to guide their team to a comfortable win against Lahore Blues in their first match of the Cool & Cool presents Jazz National T20 Cup at Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi on Thursday night.

Salman along with his captain Kamran Akmal treated Lahore Blues' bowling attack ruthlessly. Salman scored unbeaten 80 off 55 balls, hitting 13 fours and two sixes, whereas Kamran made brisk 81 off 40 balls before he was caught by Farhan Khan on the bowling of right-arm fast-medium fast bowler Imran Ali.

His innings included 11 boundaries and two sixes. After Kamran's departure, his younger brother Umar Akmal came to the crease and scored 15 runs off just six balls, hitting three boundaries. Earlier, putting to bat first after losing the toss, Lahore Blues posted 182 on the board for the loss of five wickets.

Opener Nasir Jamshed's quick 46 off 20 balls provided Lahore Blues a brisk start before he was caught by Umar Akmal on the bowling of slow left-arm bowler Kashif Bhatti.

His innings included seven boundaries and two sixes.

Lahore Blues' captain, Ahmed Shehzad, who opened the innings with Nasir made 19 off as many balls. Middle-order batsman Naved Yasin was the main contributor for Blues as his 53 off 40 balls that included six fours and a huge six, helped Lahore Blues to reach the decent total.

Nauman Anwar with 28 runs and Saad Nasim with 26 were two other leading scorers for them. For Lahore Whites right-arm fast bowler Amad Butt was the leading wicket-taker as he claimed 3 wickets for 34 runs in his four overs.

One wicket each was taken by Kashif Bhatti and Kamran Ghulam. Kamran Akmal was given man-of-the-match award for his superb knock.
