Country Needs Qualified Agriculturists To Boost Agriculture Sector On Modern Lines: Ismail Rahu

Sindh Agriculture Minister Muhammad Ismail Rahu said agriculture sector was the backbone of the economy of the country and it needed qualified agriculturists which could introduce advance technologies for boosting up this important sector on modern lines.
The minister expressed these remarks in his presidential address at 11th Academic Convocation of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam on Wednesday.
A total of 784 scholars and graduates received the degrees of post graduation and graduation in the11th academic convocation of the university.
Muhammad Ismail Rahu who is also the Pro-Chancellor of the university highly praised the performance of the university of producing qualified agriculturists who he said are playing their vital role in promotion of agriculture sector in every nook and corner of the country.
Sindh Agriculture University has made commendable achievement despite its limited resources in introducing new varieties of various crops as well as setting direction of the agriculture sector of the province on modern lines.
He hoped that the university would continue its efforts in this direction with trend of quality research for which, Sindh government will extend its full cooperation. He congratulated the scholars and graduates who received post graduation and graduation degrees and hoped that they would pool their due share and create awareness among the people related with agriculture sector through their research work.
Vice Chancellor Dr Mujeebuddin Sehrai in his welcome address said that over 37 scholars and graduates have received degree of post graduation and graduation from Sindh Agriculture University, which established in 1977.
He apprised the minister about the problems being faced by the university management and hoped that the government would resolve these issues at the earliest so that the university management could discharge responsibilities in smooth direction.
