Over Rs 300 Mln Loan Given To 5,447 Farmers

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2018 ) -:The interest free loans amounting to Rs 300.7 million have so far been distributed among 5,447 farmers for crops of current season. A spokesman of Agriculture department said here on Wednesday that these loans were issued on E-credit cards which were already issued to the farmers.
He said Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has issued loans of Rs 53.3 million to 579 farmers, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) issued loans of worth Rs. 21 million to 354 farmers, Tameer Bank issued loans of Rs 12.1 million to 306 farmers and Akhuwwat Bank issued loans of Rs 214.
3 million to 4,208 farmers.
He said the agriculture department registered 25,538 farmers for issuance of Kissan cards for subsidy on agriculture gadgets. He said the teams of agriculture department have so far collected 31,084 samples of agri lands during current year and out of those 30,598 samples were sent to laboratory for analysis.
Meanwhile, the agriculture department teams seized and destroyed spurious pesticides of worth Rs 1.92 lakh in various areas of Faisalabad during current anti adulteration campaign, he added.
