MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jan, 2018 ) :The education department Multan has sent a feasibility report for establishment of a girls degree college near double Phatak in the city to provincial government for final approval.
Officials of the education department Multan (Colleges Wing) told APP that the proposals for three more girls degree colleges, including one at Mitroo, district Vehari and two others at Jhok Vans and Qasim Bela areas of Multan, were not recommended as impracticable for not meeting criteria set by the Higher Education department Punjab.
They added that total four proposals for establishment of girls degree colleges were moved on the demand of people and the provincial education department had sought a feasibility report from the directorate of colleges, Multan, for a decision on their inclusion in the development schemes for 2018-19.
To a question, the officials said that decisions to establish colleges were made on the basis of population of the area and number of students who pass out from SSC and intermediate levels from that area, land available for college building and allied facilities.
The officials said the report was sent after a detailed survey conducted by the officials concerned. They explained that 10 Kanal land in case of urban and 30 kanal land in case of rural areas must be available besides population of the areas concerned and number of students who could avail the facility were requirements for establishment of colleges.
