HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Sep, 2017 ) : The 3-day live theatre performances coupled with training workshop concluded at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of Arts Faculty Building, University of Sindh, Jamshoro.
The concluding ceremony of the theatre and training workshop was jointly organized by Sindh University Institute of Art and Design here on Thursday which was chaired by the Vice Chancellor Prof.
Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat. The event was organized under the auspices of the University of Sindh in collaboration with Thespians Theatre, Karachi, featuring two major components which included live stage theatre performances and the theatre training workshop for the students of art-related disciplines of English Language and Literature, Media Studies, Art and Design and Bureau of Students Tutorial, Counseling and Guidance Services (STGS).
Around one hundred students from related departments enthusiastically participated in various technical sessions of the workshop. The professionally trained team of Thespians Theatre led by its Executive Director Faisal Malik imparted training to eager varsity youth in almost all important dimensions of the theatre performance.
In addition, theatre performances shown by exceptionally talented artists of Thespians Theatre were also rendered at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of Faculty of Arts of the varsity. These performances attracted overwhelming number of ardent varsity students, teachers, school children, families, community segments and art enthusiasts from Jamshoro and Hyderabad, packing the auditorium to its capacity and passionately screaming in utter abandon to the mesmerizing performance of the theatre cast while the latter were in action.
Addressing the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor said that University of Sindh, by contrast, was the most liberal of all public sector campuses across the country, adding that due to mystic influences, youth of Sindh, especially the students of the University of Sindh were comparatively more loving, accommodative and broad-minded who knew the rare art and pleasure of serving their guests with pleasure, pride and rich traditions of hospitality.
He valued the services of Thespians Theatre Karachi of bringing the opportunity to the University of Sindh. Directing his remark to the Executive Director of the theatre organization Faisal Malik, Dr.
Burfat said their students were highly talented, vibrant, positive and meticulousness. "All they need is right opportunities coupled with a bit of grooming and encouragement and I thank you bringing them both", he said.
He appreciated the efforts of Incharge Director of Institute of Art and Design Prof. Naimatullah Khilji and others. He felicitated Dr. Mehmoodul Hassan Mughal, Prof. Ghulam Akbar Mahesar and other dedicated members of the management team for successfully organizing this three day theatre workshop and live performances.
Later, appreciation certificates and shields were distributed among theatre cast, theatre management, faculty, students, officers and employees who had worked day in and day out to make the event a sparkling success. APP/jvd/abd/fmc � 19:30/20:57/20:57
