AERC-KU Opens Admissions To National MAS/M.Phil Programme

KARACHI, Jan 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : Applied Economics Research Centre (AERC),University of Karachi, will grant admissions for up to 50 candidates in its national-level MAS/MPhil degree programme 2017.
An official of the institution said on Wednesday that the entrance tests for the selection of eligible candidates have already been conducted in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta, Multan, Sukkur and Karachi.
The test qualification list will be displayed on January 6 while interviews of the qualified candidates, which is the final selection procedure, will be held on January 9. This academic programme is an advanced level program which leads to Ph.D programme.
Director AERC, University of Karachi, Prof. Dr. Samina Khalil, stated this while speaking at the meeting of the admission committee held at the Applied Economics Research Centre here on Wednesday.
She said that AERC announced the 42nd annual session of MAS/M.Phil degree programme. This research centre (AERC) is the institution of national capacity in applied economics that conducted entrance test on 3rd January in various cities in the country, she said adding that the academic session will start from February 2017.
AERC is a leading research and teaching institute in the country imparting advance training in applied economics since 1979, she said and maintained that this high learning programme trains students to work in research organisations, academic institutions, financial and banking institutions, development agencies and private sector.
Graduates from AERC are currently holding high level positions in organisations like World Bank, United Nations, State Bank of Pakistan, Universities and private sectors, she said.
