AJK Election Commission Declares Schedule For Bye Election In LA-19 Ponch, Sudhnoti -3 Constituency

MUZAFFARABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Nov, 2018 ) :The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission have announced the election schedule for bye election in LA-19 Ponch and Sudhnoti -3 constituency which was left empty due to sudden death of MLA Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan of JKPP on 4th November 2018.
The Senior Member of AJK Election Commission Justice Retired Abdul Rashid Sulharia here on Tuesday has announced the bye election schedule during a press conference held at the Election Commission office.
He announced that the bye election in LA-19 Ponch and Sudhnoti -3 constituency would be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018.
The Senior Member Election Commission while giving the details he said that polling would start from 8 am up to 5 pm and saying that District and Session Judge Ponch has been appointed as District Returning Officer, the Additional District and Session Judge Hajira appointed as Returning Officer while as, Tehsildar Rawalakot has been appointed as Assistant Returning officer.
Justice retired Abdul Rashid Sulharia told media that some 92,427 voters were registered as per 2016 General election in LA-19 Ponch and Sudhnoti -3 constituency in which 49,455 male voters and 42,972 female voters respectively.
He said that at least 169 polling stations and 232 polling booths have been setup in the constituency, adding that candidates can submit their documents up to November 30, 2018 till 5 pm while the scrutiny of the documents would be held on December 1, 2018 from 9:00 am up to 2:30 pm office time at Election Commission office and adding that the corrected document list of the candidates would be placed on the notice board on the same day.
The Senior Member Election Commission said the candidates whose papers would be rejected can submit their appeals against the corrected papers of the candidates at Election Commission office on December 5, 2018 before 12:30 pm and the hearing of appeals would be made on December 6, 2018 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm and the decisions would be made on December 7, 2018.
Justice retired Abdul Rashid Sulharia said the candidates can withdraw their papers on December 8, before 2:30 PM and nomination papers list of the candidates would be displayed on the same day besides, the nominated candidates would be allotted election symbols on December 10, 2018 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.
He said the candidates taking part in the elections have to submit the details of their assets on stamp papers in AJK Election Commission Secretariat before submitting their nomination papers and have to attach the receiptswith nomination papers Senior Member EC added.
