Govt. working on 100-day agenda, endeavoring for sustained economic growth: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan stressed international community to cooperate with federal and provincial government is their efforts for sustained economic growth at national and provincial level.

He was talking to Country Director United Nation Development Program (UNDP), Ignacio Artaza who called on him at Chief Minister Secretariat here on Wednesday. He said that provincial government was working on 100-day agenda and UNDP assistance is crucial for the putting on ground various developmental strategies including the tourism promotion and integration of newly merged districts of the erstwhile FATA.

Country Director UNDP offered assistance for government's reforms, implementation mechanism of policies in different sectors, mainstreaming and integration of new districts, improvement of economy, promotion of tourism, water conservation and utilization adding that UNDP was closely working with both federal and provincial governments.

The UNDP was also launching a 13 million US Dollars monitoring project of glacier melting and was working with federal government on the subject matter. The meeting agreed for further enhancing level of mutual cooperation between two sides.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister welcomed the offer of UNDP and said that he had a strong commitment for sustained development prosperity and wellbeing of the people.

"We have taken large scale reforms in the province, and assistance of donors would be a welcome gesture", he said adding KP government's 100-day plan was in last phase of preparation which would be posted on website after completion.

He said that KP province had a lot of potential in tourism including Swat, Malakand and Hazara that needed to be developed and provincial government was working on these objectives.

Referring to mainstreaming and integration of newly merged districts, Chief Minister made it clear that his government has already extended education and health sectors to these areas.

He said providing relief to affectees of terrorism hit areas was among the priorities of provincial government and government was using all available resources in this regard. He assured that provincial government would further strengthen partnership and engagement for development with UNDP and together both would work for the development of region.
