
More Rains Expected In Punjab

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th August, 2016) : Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rains for more three days from Wednesday to Friday at a number of places in Punjab.
Spokesman of the Met office informed that a low pressure area persists over East Rajisthan (India) and it is likely to move slowly towards northwest direction during next 24 hours. Under the influence of this weather system, monsoon currents are penetrating in upper and central parts of the country and the intensity of monsoon currents is likely to increase gradually, producing rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls at a number of places in Punjab including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions from Wednesday to Friday.
Heavy downpour may trigger flash flood and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab.
The authorities concerned are advised to remain alert during the period, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday, he added.
