ISLAMABAD, Jan 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Jan, 2017 ) : Immense increase has been witnessed in the prices of dry wood after rain and snowfall in many parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.
Although locals have expressed happiness on the end of long dry spell, but they are now concerned over the high prices of dry wood, reported a privte news channel.
While talking to news channel, people of Parachinar area in Kurram Agency said that wood sellers have cashed in on the situation and they are charging high-priced rates for the wood used for cooking food and other purposes.
"I just returned from a wood market empty handed due to exorbitant prices. The government should take notice of the matter and help people who cannot afford to buy dry wood," said Fida Hussain, a local person. The wood sellers are of the view that the prices have been increased due to blockage of routes leading to mountainous areas and reduction in the stocks.
