Senior journalist Arif Nizami claims that Mian Aslam Iqbal name is being proposed as new Punjab CM
LAHORE- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- 12th March 2019) Veteran journalist Arif Nizami has claimed that PTI members in Punjab are lobbying against Usman Buzdar and the possibilities could not be ruled out about his removal.
The name of Mian Aslam Iqbal, a legislator from Lahore, who is serving as Commerce Minister in provincial cabinet, is being proposed by the ruling party members as a new CM, Nizami, who has on his credit a long list of exclusive stories, claimed in a talk show.
He, however, quickly added that Buzdar could not be replaced easily as he enjoyed the backing of Chaudhrys from Gujrat.
Ch Shujat and some leaders of PML-Q met Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday and discussed the political situation in Punjab.
The reports say the leadership of PTI and PML-Q, the ally in government, also discussed Buzdar performance and challenges he was facing to govern the biggest province.
The lawmaker from Rajanpur was the choice of PM Khan for Punjab’s top slot and he declared him “A Wasim Akram in the making.” But Buzdar is at the center of the controversy since his raise and also he could not perform well as he was expected by Khan.
The news about his replacements appeared on many occasions during the last few months but PM Khan strictly denied such reports.
