Sindh Govt Paying Full Attention Towards Provision Of Medical Facilities: Health Minister

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Aug, 2017 ) : Sindh Health Minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro Friday said that the government was paying full attention towards provision of medical facilities in the Province and a huge amount has been utilized for upgrading and extension of the hospitals along with ensuring availability of state-of-the-art medical equipment and required medicines.
During visit of civil hospital Hyderabad here, the minister maintained that government was spending billions of rupees in health sector to benefit public and any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
The minister said that he would pay surprise visits to all government hospitals to inspect himself that what was going on over there. He also asked all medical superintendents of government hospitals to ensure attendance of all doctors as well as para medical staff, availability of medicines along with better arrangements of cleanliness to make patient-friendly environment in hospitals.
Dr Mandhro said that the government was paying special attention for the development of different health facilities of Hyderabad which were badly neglected in the past now it was responsibility of the officers of Health Department to perform their duty honestly and strive to provide all possible health facilities to the people without any delay despite of limited resources.
The administration of the civil hospital to concentrate on the monitoring of hospital buildings and their repair so that people could be provided proper treatment in healthy atmosphere, he directed.
At the occasion the minister directed the MS Civil Hospital Hyderabad, Dr Abdul Wahab Wadho, to take action against those who were charging extra money. On the intervention of the minister the extra fee taken by the Civil Hospital management was returned to the patients.
Dr Sikandar Mendhro assured that doctor's shortage would soon be overcome after the issue of public service commission is resolved in the court of law. Earlier, when ambulances were rushing to the LMCH with injured passengers, the minister summoned doctors and paramedics from the trauma and casualty departments of public hospitals to assist LMCH, attending doctors and paramedics.
Sindh Health Minister went round various sections of the Civil Hospital and also checked the attendance of doctors and staff. Director National Institute of Cardiac and Vascular Disease (NICVD) Karachi, Dr Nadeem Qamar, Professor Nadeem Rizvi, Director development & Planning Abdul Sattar Jatoe, Cardiologist Hyderabad Civil Hospital Syed Fasih Ahmed Hashmi, Professor Surgeon Sharjeel Abad Dahiri and others were also accompanied with the health minister during his visits to the Civil Hospitals Hyderabad.
