LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2019 ) :The Punjab Emergency Service (PES), known as Rescue-1122, provided services to victims of 929 road accidents across the province during the last 24 hours.
According to the data, provided by the PES here on Tuesday, six persons were killed and 1,061 others injured in these accidents. As many as 647 seriously injured persons were shifted to different hospitals, while 414 with minor injuries were provided treatment at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.
Further analysis showed that 397 drivers, 25 underage drivers, 159 pedestrians and 511 passengers were among the victims of the accidents.
The statistics show that 230 road accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 247 persons, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by 104 in Faisalabad with 119 victims and Gujranwala at third with 66 accidents and 72 victims.
According to the data, 712 motorbikes, 132 auto-rickshaws, 91 motorcars, 62 vans, 11 passenger buses, 23 trucks and 120 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in these road accidents.
