'Sohni Dharti' Singer Shahnaz Begum Passes Away

The singer died of heart attack. She was 66

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th March, 2019) Renowned singer Shahnaz Begum passed away in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Shahnaz Begum had sung a number of popular songs, including national songs like Sohni Dharti and Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan.

It is ironic that the singer who gave such popular national songs died on March 23, a day to commemorate Lahore Resolution 1940.

According to media reports, the singer died of heart attack. She was 66 and was living in Dhaka.

Her funeral prayers will be held today at Baridhara Park Road Mosque after Zohar prayers.

She will be buried at the Army graveyard adjacent to Bannani graveyard, Dhaka.

Shahnaz Begum’s niece had shared the news on social media.
