She urged them to call out this treatment.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st April, 2019) Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker, who had earlier called Pakistan a failing state for being non-secular, has now apologized to the Muslims residing in India for being a victim of hate during the election season.
Taking to Twitter, Swara said that she wants to apologise to the Muslims and non-Savarna castes of India for ceaseless offensive bigotry they are dealing with this election season and urged them to call out this treatment.
“I want to apologise to the Muslims of India & the non- Savarna castes of India & the Muslims of India again for the ceaseless offensive BULLSHIT & bigotry they have to listen to about themselves this election season. 🙏🏿🙏🏿 This is ur country, don’t be silenced CALL THIS SHIT OUT,” she wrote.
Swara Bhasker, who featured in Veere di Wedding, had come under fire for calling Pakistan a failing state.
Speaking about the ban on Veere de Wedding in Pakistan in an interview, the actress said, “For some reason I have to keep answering for that. I don’t know why people think I’m a spokesperson for the Pakistani government. What do you expect from a state that’s run by Sharia Laws?”
“They’re a nonsecular state. I’m not surprised at all. Why should we hold up Pakistan, which is a failing state — I don’t understand why we keep taking pleasure and feeling a sense of self-worth from all the silly things that happen in Pakistan. Apologies to all my Pakistani friends right now. Rest assured, Pakistanis have way worse vocabulary than we do. I know,” Bhasker added.
This called for a backlash from not only Pakistani side but Indian side as well as the actress is being condemned for her statements.
