MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th March, 2019) Two GLONASS-M navigation satellites were removed from service on Wednesday for technical maintenance, according to the Information and Analysis Center for Positioning, Navigation and Timing run by Russian rocket and spacecraft scientific center TsNIIMash.

While the GLONASS-M satellite No.745 was removed from service for scheduled technical maintenance, which will continue until Saturday, the GLONASS-M satellite No.

720 was removed from service due to unscheduled technical maintenance, after problems emerged at around 8 a.m. local time (05:00 GMT).

The GLONASS-M satellite No.720, launched in October 2007, has worked out its seven-year warranty resource.

The GLONASS-M satellite No.745 was shortly removed from service for unscheduled technical maintenance on March 9.

At the moment, the GLONASS constellation comprises a total of 26 satellites, including 22 operational devices in the orbit.
