International Workshop On Collective Action For Knowledge Economy Using Technology (CAKE-TECH) Concludes

The Department of Clinical Medicine & Surgery of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged concluding ceremony of “2-day International workshop on Collective Action for Knowledge Economy Using Technology (CAKE-TECH)” funded by Punjab Agriculture Research Board (PARB) under Civic Engagement Programme with the theme of communities empowerment for sustainable development for knowledge economy
LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Mar, 2018 ) The Department of Clinical Medicine & Surgery of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged concluding ceremony of “2-day International workshop on Collective Action for Knowledge Economy Using Technology (CAKE-TECH)” funded by Punjab Agriculture Research board (PARB) under Civic Engagement Programme with the theme of communities empowerment for sustainable development for knowledge economy.
UVAS Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding session of the workshops and distributed certificates among resource persons while Rector Virtual University of Pakistan Dr Naveed A Malik, Mare Nostrum Norway Mr Otto Evjenth, Prof Dr Muhammad Nawaz, Dean Health Sciences Punjab University Prof Dr Awais, Prof Dr Anila Zameer Durrani, Dr Shahida Noumani and a large number of students, faculty members and national and international participants from all over the world were present.
The workshop recommended that use of technology and competence system is needed to be developed and delivered in community services for livestock and public health.
For sustainable livelihood of less privilege community focus on water, nutrition, health and energy as core factor must be consider in civic engagement programme.
The competent system must be linked with technology and communication system to delivering affordable and tailor made support to community in collective action programme. It was mutually agreed that UVAS, University of Karachi, University of Engineering & Technology Karachi, Virtual University and Marrinotum Norway will collaborate and cooperate in action taken under Collaborative Action Programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that UVAS door always open for providing assistance to livestock poor farming community for poverty alleviation in the country. Later Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani presented the vote of thanks.
Various aspects discussed during the two days event related to Living for under privileged communities, food for all, Better Health in under privileged communities, Good Quality education and Learning Technologies etc.
