CEO SMEDA Visits KP, Briefed On ERKF, PSDP Projects

PESHAWAR, Sept 22 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Sep, 2017 ) : Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) Sher Ayub Khan visited the provincial metropolis the other day.
During visit to the Regional Office, SMEDA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the General Manager Out-Reach (GMOR)/Provincial Chief, Javed Iqbal Khattak given him detailed presentation on all ongoing Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) funded projects and particularly the Multi-Donors Trust Fund (MDTF) funded Economic Revitalization of KP and FATA (ERKF) Project.
The CEO SMEDA was told that the Round II of the ERKF project is successfully continued and hundreds of applications from the SMEs from different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been received so far for the rehabilitation as well as up-gradation, which would be presented in the Document Review Committee (DRC) on their turns.
Talking to the officials of the SMEDA, he directed them to focus on the actually terrorism and natural calamity affected areas to benefit the real affected. He directed for not accepting any kind of pressure in this regard.
He also directed for accelerating efforts for the initiating of the Round II of ERKF project for the affected SMEs of FATA. He further directed the SMEDA officials for maintaining close liaison with both public and private sector universities to facilitate them in preparing SME development curriculum to meet the needs of both academia and industry and prepare the youth for future�s challenges.
During the visit, the CEO SMEDA also visited public sector SBBWU and private sector Brains University where he signed a memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with public sector Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) and Brains, universities a private sector university for establishing of Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) on the campus of the university to support it in initiating capacity building programs for the students.
During visits to universities, the CEO SMEDA was accompanied by GMOR/Provincial Chief, Javed Iqbal Khattak, Manager Women Entrepreneurship Development (WED), Nabeela Farman and Manager SMEDA, Textile Engineer Mohammad Irsar Khan Wazir.
The authority under the will also facilitate the universities in establishing a networking facility for facilitating visits of technical experts to provide expert opinion or one to one mentoring to the new entrepreneurs, market linkages for the Entrepreneurs by organizing seminars, exposure visits for the entrepreneurs, donor linkages for facilitation of the Entrepreneurs, student placement and internship, help University in developing curricula of new programs to be launched by them, market survey conduction for the new programs.
